Language Arts- The students will identify new vocabulary words. They will have a test Friday. This week we will continue working on point of view. We will be reading and listening to stories from the literature book.
Math- We will continue working on chapter 4. The following skills will be learned: graphing linear equations, finding the slope of a line. Depending on how well we do, we will aim for a chapter test Friday.
Language Arts- New vocabulary words will be identified Monday. There will be a test over these words on Friday. The rest of the week will be spent in analyzing different points of view. We will read several stories in class that will help the student understand the differences.
Math- There will be a Mid-Chapter Practice Test Monday-Chapter 4. Tuesday and Wednesday will be concentrated on solving inequalities. Hopefully, we will be able to move on to graphing linear equations on Thursday and Friday.
Language Arts- On Monday we will be introduced to new vocabulary. Test will be Friday.
Monday and Tuesday we will be working on analyzing character traits and will be reading a selection from our literature book. Wednesday and Thursday will be spent in the computer lab working on our project that is due February 22, 2008.
Math-We will begin Chapter 4 and will be working on that all week. Again, we will be in the computer lab trying to complete as much as possible on our project.
Project- The University of Tennessee vs The University of Memphis. I hope the children enjoy working on this. It should be fun,
Monday- Holiday- Enjoy!!!
Language Arts- We will continue our study of poetry. We will work on this all week.
Math- We have just started Chapter 7. This week will include determining unit rates, solving proportions, solving problems using scale drawings, and a Mid-Chapter Test.
Language Arts- We will identify and use new vocabulary words. There will be a test Friday. We are going to be working on our unit in poetry. It will probably take two weeks to get through it. Not only will we be studying poems, but we will also use songs. The children seem to enjoy this.
Math- Chapter 6 review Monday. Chapter Test Tuesday. We will begin Chapter 7 Wednesday.

Divide fractions and mixed numbers
Convert from one unit to another
Determine the areas of rectangles and triangles
Estimate length, perimeter, circumference
Language Arts- We will learn new vocabulary words Monday. There will be daily review and then a test on Friday. We will finish up Chapter 26 in grammar. There will be a chapter test Thursday. Please remember that this may change.
Math- We will spend the entire week on Chapter 6. This includes adding and subtracting fractions, mixed numbers, multiplying fractions and mixed numbers, and solving equations with rational number solutions. There will be a Mid-Chapter Test Friday.
Please encourage your child to complete all work and have it ready when it is due. It is very important that we end this nine weeks on a positivre note.

Language Arts-We will identify five new vocabulary words and definitions on Monday. There will be a test on these words Friday. The students will be taking the second Think Link Test Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the week will be spent finishing the chapter on punctuation.
Math- Monday- Chapter 5 Practice Test
Tuesday- Chhapter 5 Test
Wednesday and Thursday- Think Link Testing
Friday- Begin chapter 6- estimating sums, differences, products, and quotients of fractions and mixed numbers.

Language Arts- Tuesday we have guidance. The rest of the week we will continue and finish quotation marks, hyphens, and apostrophes. Hopefully, we will have a chapter 26 review Friday.
Math- Write fractions as percents and percents as fractions. Write percemts as decimals and decimals as percents. Find the LCM of two or more numbers.
